Transsiberian Dreams

Most of these photos were taken from the Trans-Siberian train, in the winter of 2022. I've spent many days and nights in this train, gazing at the window, falling asleep, listening to my neighbours singing, or watching people smoke on the platform in the freezing cold. My time there was immense, white and silent.

Siberia is one of the places undergoing the most rapid changes because of global warming. Yet I took seemingly timeless pictures, pictures we feel could have been taken 20 years from now and could be taken again in 20 years. I also captured every day activities, like fishing in the lake or carrying things in the snow. These scenes reinforce the impression that things will always be the way they are, innocent like that, simple like that.
